The Fact Files
Sometimes a smart answer is “Not sure.”
The Fact Files gives early learners a playful first experience of checking information instead of simply accepting it. Students look closely at pictures, compare what they can see with a sentence, and decide whether it matches, does not match, or needs more information before they can know.
Along the way, they practise noticing clues, looking again, and choosing a useful way to find out more.
How to use this:
Learners work through the challenges in order.
For each picture, they read the sentence and tick Yes if it matches, No if it does not, or Not sure if they need more information.
The final challenges take the thinking one step further. Learners decide how they could check something they cannot know by looking alone, then choose the challenge they enjoyed most and reflect on what made it interesting.
The activity is designed for Early Childhood learners and focuses on Observation and Reasoning.
